The New Plan F Medicare Supplement For Seniors What You Need To Know
82
What Does Plan F Cover?
The government is taking away Medicare supplement plan J and replacing it with Medicare supplement plan F by June 1st 2010. All the of the senior’s that have plan J are grandfathered in and can keep it, all that don’t have it, can apply for the new Medicare supplement plan F this year. What does plan F offer and how is it different from plan J. With Medicare there is a deduction of $1,100.00 for hospital visits, both plans cover this. Without a plan F supplement it could cost 10’s of thousands of dollars in out of pocket expenses.
Medicare Supplement plan J and F cover
*Skilled in-home nursing
*First 3 pints of blood and beyond
*Hospice care
*Home health care
*Foreign travel health care
*Hospitalization
All of these services listed above are not covered by Medicare but are completely coved by plan F with no additional out of pocket expenses, except for the low monthly payment of the supplement.

Medicare Suppliment Plan F
Medicare supplement Plan F will be half the cost of plan J a month which is a huge savings to seniors. The only thing that Medicare supplement plan F does not cover that plan J does is preventive medical care benefit. This is a huge expense for the government and this is why, preventative care tests that are ordered by doctors when not covered by Medicare can be very expensive. The truth is that the government does not have control over these tests that the doctors are ordering that fall into the realm of preventative care. The fact that the government took this out of the equation and then cut the cost of the plan in half shows just how much this part of plan J was being used or abused? In my personal opinion prevention is extremely important and the testing and finding of what is wrong with patients is going to be extremely costly for many seniors and Medicare does not cover most of it. The real point being is that Medicare really covers the bare bones of expenses and for many seniors that is just not enough and without Medicare supplements F or J it can leave a senior in huge finical debt. The one good thing about the new Medicare supplant plan F is that it is very inexpensive; of course the price does vary depending on the health of the senior. All of this information and more can be discussed with and insurance agent and specialist. For any clarification or more information on the new Medicare supplement plan F, I personally with be more than happy to answer any questions.

My dad cuurently has plan j however due to increased premium, he is thinking of changing to plan f. I understand once he chances he can't go back. I not clear on the difference between the two plans. Plan f doesn't cover preventive care and Home recovery. What exactly does that mean? I don't want him to make mistake. Thank you
Great advice! But I personally believe that having Medicare supplemental insurance won’t be sufficient enough to address all the costs related to long-term care as there are still limitations to it. Nothing beats the coverage provided by long term care insurance. I like this plan F. it have a great ability to insure our medicare services.
I also provide Plan A, B, C and D with sure Medigap for client.
I think, it is quite costly but more reliable for future. Everybody should go with shopping for getting a best option according to requirements after retirement.
Day doesn't matter.............
Thanks
